Sam and Laura first met whilst working at Royal Preston Hospital and were introduced in passing but never really spoke to one another. It wasn't until years late when Laura was working as a nurse at Blackburn Hospital that Sam sent her a Facebook message asking what it was like to work thereafter thinking about getting a job there, or so he said, he apparently made this up just so he could talk to her. They kept speaking online and met up for a few coffees before deciding to date each other.
On the 14th April 2019, Sam and Laura were supposed to be going to the Lakes for a day out as it was Sam's birthday. He forced Laura to get up at 6am. Laura couldn't understand what the rush was but went along with it anyway. The set of on a walk around Elterwater stopping at a bench about halfway along the route. Sam told Laura to sit on the bench so he could take a photo of her and then asked her to close her eyes as he had a surprise for her. She complied and when she opened her eyes Sam was kneeling in front of her with a beautiful gold engagement ring in it. She, of course, said yes!
They then met up with family for lunch which Sam had organised and kept it all a surprise from Laura, she had no idea how he did it!
They got married at the Shireburn Arms just before Covid-19 really started in the UK and I'm so thrilled they managed to get married before all weddings were stopped by the government especially as they are expecting their first child this summer. They even did a gender reveal confetti cannon at the reception. Scroll down to see but guess if it's a boy or girl first.
Here are a few of my favourites from the day.
