Josh and Melissa tie the knot at Bashall Barn

Melissa and Josh first met in 2018 thanks to the matchmaking efforts of Josh's sister, Iona. She arranged to meet with both for a shopping trip (not telling either the other was coming!), then swiftly left the pair alone to chat - when Iona came back 45 minutes later, she found Melissa and Josh getting on like a house on fire, and bang, the job was done! Right from that very first day, Josh has made Melissa laugh and feel like the most beautiful girl in the world.

During a boat trip on Lake Windermere Josh got down on one knee, cried and asked Melissa to be his wife - who promptly said “yes!”.

The couple got married at Bashall Barn in Clitheroe, Lancashire, which has panoramic views across the Ribble Valley. It was a rainy day, but we made use of any breaks in the clouds to get out and take photographs in the grounds with the rolling hills providing a stunning backdrop. Thankfully the rain didn’t dampen spirits and it was a really lovely, fun wedding, and all the guests were lovely too.

Melissa and Josh chose a classic vintage peach and green colour scheme for their special day, and their flowers by The Bloom Room were beautiful. Josh looked very dapper in his green tweed suit and Melissa looked gorgeous in her dress from Amelia’s Brides and personalised ‘Mrs Wingfield’ denim jacket.
